What is Weight Loss Management?
Weight Loss Management is not just the process of losing weight, but the process of keeping the weight off. Many diet fads will have you cut calories drastically or worse – cut out a food group all together! They introduce you to pre-packaged processed food which doesn’t teach you how to eat properly, and adds nothing but chemicals and non-nutritious calories into your body. By adopting a well-balanced, nutritious lifestyle, you are changing the way you look at food, and the way your body responds. Progress is important, but sustainability is essential. What you can expect: I am not going to promise you it will be easy. Let’s be honest, if weight loss were easy we wouldn’t have an obesity epidemic in America! It’s an adjustment, a new way of looking at food, new habits, and an overall change in lifestyle. What you put into it, you will get out of it. I will give you the tools, both physical and mental, to help you through your journey. There are no “cookie cutter” plans. Each plan is designed for you, your body, and your goals. As someone who has struggled her whole life with her weight, I can promise you one thing, I truly understand and am here to help you succeed. My Story: I have been overweight my whole life. There has never been a time I have looked in the mirror and felt happy, until recently. I have tried fad diets, exercise programs, starvation – you name it! Only to fail again and again. It wasn’t from a lack of trying, it was because I didn’t have the right tools in front of me to succeed. I spent many times at home, not wanting to go out, because I was not happy with who I was. How we feel about ourselves affects us tremendously. It can impact jobs, relationships, social interactions etc. That is why weight loss is much more than physical process, it is mental process as well. As I mentioned before, I have spent my whole life dieting. 26 of those years were as a vegetarian, until a year ago, when I needed to push myself further in my chosen sport. When I started bodybuilding 2 years ago, and followed a strict, well planned diet, my body transformed. I was always aware of how important diet was, but seeing how closely it was tied into performance, results and recovery was an eye opener. I have spent the past 28 years studying diet and holistic medicine. I was never one to take a pill or eat a certain food unless I knew the side effects, and if they were harmful to my body or not. My passion to share this information grew, and because of the unbelievable joy my personal transformation has brought me, I made the decision to go back to school so I can help others be happy and love who they are as well. Weight loss is not easy, but it doesn’t have to be hard when you have the right tools and support. It is a process, but it is a rewarding one.
