What is Yoga?
Yoga is an ancient practice that can create a balance and harmony between mind and body. Yoga is a Sanskrit word which translates into The discipline of progress of uniting mind, body and spirit. An ideal routine consist of asanas (poses), pranayama (breath), meditation.
Yoga is more than just flexible postures. It is proper breathing; it embraces the realms of mind and spirited. At heart, Yoga is about a whole way of being.
What is Not Yoga…
It is not a competition. Everyone’s flexibility is different based upon physical attributes. Yoga is not about DOING the perfect pose, it’s about the perfect pose for YOU. Respecting our bodies and their limitations is an essential part of yoga.
